I finally took my first semi-risk of the survivor pool season this past week, picking the Los Angeles Rams to win, and it worked! Of course, LA only needed to take down the Arizona Cardinals to keep me perfect through six weeks, but they were a team nobody projected to be good this season and they got it done.
In fact, my top three Week 6 picks all won, which was impressive in a week where the final two undefeated teams both lost. Now, as we get set to move on, one strategy appears to be foolproof going forward: pick whoever is playing the Cardinals.
Before we get to Week 7, here’s a look at where things stand:
Record: 6-0
Already used: Ravens, Bills, Chiefs, 49ers, Dolphins, Rams

I like this Rams team more and more each week, and they have another winnable game Sunday against the Steelers. The only hesitation with this matchup is Pittsburgh having extra time to prepare for LA coming out of a bye.

The Chiefs aren’t coming out of a bye, but they might as well be after last playing on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Chargers have a short week after losing on Monday and the vibes are not great with this team right now.

Buffalo survived the New York Giants last week, but that close finish had to be a wake-up call for them ahead of another game against a team they should easily beat. Recent history between the Bills and Patriots suggest this game won’t be a problem for Buffalo.

The Vikings won’t have Justin Jefferson against a tough Niners defense, and it won’t be hard for San Francisco to get up for them after losing for the first time all season last week … to the Cleveland Browns … with a backup quarterback.

Yes, I was serious about picking against the Cardinals. Well, at least for one more week anyway. The Seahawks are a team capable of airing it out, and the Cardinals have no defense for that. With Arizona going on the road to Seattle, this game shouldn’t be close.
