Last week, I thought picking a winner could be a struggle for a lot survivor pool players, then proceeded to get four of my five picks correct, including my top pick of the week — the Buffalo Bills over the Las Vegas Raiders. So, it’s safe to say our pool is off to a great start.
This week, unfortunately, I see a lot more clear-cut winners. So, naturally, someone is going to suffer a major letdown and disappoint a lot of people. I can only hope that’s not the team I have at No. 1.
Before we get to that, here’s a look at where things stand:
Record: 2-0

Jacksonville Jaguars (vs. Houston Texans)

Jacksonville’s defense has been strong, and now they get a home game against rookie C.J. Stroud and a Houston offense that hasn’t put it together yet. This should be a win for a playoff team from last year.
4
Miami Dolphins (vs. Denver Broncos)

Denver has shown signs of life in two losses this year, but after last week’s second-half meltdown, I expect the Dolphins to obliterate them at home. Miami is a top-five team in the NFL.
3
San Francisco 49ers (vs. New York Giants)

This might have been the worst possible game for the Giants to potentially lose Saquon Barkley. Putting the game on Daniel Jones’ shoulders on the road against this 49ers defense is not a great formula for success.
2
Dallas Cowboys (at Arizona Cardinals)

The Cardinals have played some surprisingly close games through two weeks, going 2-0 against the spread, though they lost both games outright. That’s about to end. They haven’t played a team as good as the Cowboys yet. I’m not expecting this game to be close at all.
1
Kansas City Chiefs (vs. Chicago Bears)

The Chiefs haven’t been all that sharp this year, but they got their first win of the season in Week 2 and have the Bears coming into their home for what should be win number two. This is the perfect spot for them to get their mojo back, as it has blowout written all over it.
