The best 5 NFL survivor pool picks to consider for Week 4

Survivors, congrats on making it out Week 3 of the NFL season unscathed. Consider yourself among the lucky few, because it was ROUGH!

If the percentages from the Circa Sports survivor contest are an indication of how other pools went, a lot of people didn’t make it. As BetFTW’s Ben Fawkes wrote, nearly 41 percent of contestants picked the Jacksonville Jaguars to beat the Houston Texans. And than half picked either the Texans, Baltimore Ravens or Dallas Cowboys, and now they’re all done for the year.

For those who listened to the sage advice of yours truly, you’re still going. We went with the safe pick (Chiefs over Bears) to keep our pool going, but that also means we can’t use Kansas City as our top pick again. Let’s see if we can keep the good vibes going regardless.

Before we get to Week 4, here’s a look at where things stand:

Record: 3-0

Already used: RavensBills, Chiefs

5
Dallas Cowboys (vs. New England Patriots)

Joe Rondone-USA TODAY Sports

It’s hard to completely trust the Cowboys after they just lost to the Cardinals, but this is a game they should win. Their offense will be challenged by New England’s defense, but Mac Jones and co. should have a harder time on the other side.

4
Philadelphia Eagles (vs. Washington Commanders)

Kim Klement Neitzel-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles are undefeated but something still feels off about their offense, which is the only reason they aren’t higher on this list. Everything was off about the Commanders in their last game, though, so it’s hard to imagine they’ll pull off the upset.

3
Denver Broncos (at Chicago Bears)

Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

Listen, I know the Broncos just lost by 50 points, but they’re also playing the Bears. I can’t imagine a better get-right game after allowing 70 points than playing maybe the only team that looks like more of a mess.

2
Kansas City Chiefs (at New York Jets)

Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

Because we used the Chiefs last week, they can’t take the No. 1 spot on this week’s list, but I’m not sure they would have either way. I think this game ends up closer than people think. But for those who haven’t used the Chiefs yet, it’s still a good pick. They can’t lose to the Jets in front of Taylor Swift.

1
San Francisco 49ers (vs. Arizona Cardinals)

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The Cards are surprising people this year, playing two close games in Weeks 1 and 2 before finally pulling off the upset over Dallas in Week 3. They may ultimately cover the spread again here as 14-point underdogs, but I just don’t see them beating the 49ers. San Francisco is arguably one of the two best teams in the NFL.
