We’re about a quarter of the way through the NFL season and our pool is still alive, but it’s cost us some heavy-hitters out of the gate.
Through four weeks, I’ve already used four teams with top-seven Super Bowl odds entering Week 5, including the top three. Last week, we survived by picking the Super Bowl favorite San Francisco 49ers.
Things only get more difficult from here, but we still have more than a few good teams to choose from and some juicy survivor matchups this week.
Before we get to Week 5, here’s a look at where things stand:
Record: 4-0
Already used: Ravens, Bills, Chiefs, 49ers

Buffalo Bills (vs. Jacksonville Jaguars - in London)

Buffalo is at a bit of a disadvantage against a Jaguars team that’s been in London since last week, which should make for a closer game than this would be otherwise. It doesn’t change that the Bills are better and should come out on top.

Baltimore Ravens (at Pittsburgh Steelers)

The Steelers always play Baltimore tough, but their offense is a mess and now Kenny Pickett is banged up. This is a game the Ravens should win.

Washington Commanders (vs. Chicago Bears - on TNF)

I’m not sleeping on the Bears, and neither should the Commanders. As long as they’re locked in, however, this is a game Washington should win.
2
Detroit Lions (vs. Carolina Panthers)

If you’re rolling with Detroit this week, it’s a great pick. The Lions shouldn’t have trouble with the Panthers at home (or really anywhere). I’ll probably save them for one of two games remaining against Chicago, but you can’t go wrong here.

Miami Dolphins (vs. New York Giants)

These two teams are coming off massive blowouts, but at least Miami lost to a division rival projected as a Super Bowl favorite. And that offense is still very lethal. The Giants won’t have any answers on defense, and they definitely don’t have the firepower to keep up once the Dolphins get rolling.
