When you win a national championship, you deserve all the glory. When you win a national championship after an undefeated season with five brand-new starters, you deserve all the glory and then some.
What Dawn Staley is doing at South Carolina needs to be studied. I still cannot wrap my brain around how this woman and her staff took a team that lost all five starters from the previous season back to the Final Four. They not only returned, but they also won a national championship after finishing the season 38-0. Read that again — THIRTY EIGHT AND ZERO. It’s Staley’s second championship in three seasons and South Carolina’s third since 2017. (WHAT KIND OF SORCERY IS THIS?! WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS ENOUGH FOR ME.)
Thankfully, where my mind is struggling to comprehend this kind of feat, a new Under Armour ad makes it all very clear.
YOU WIN SOME, YOU LOSE NONE. 38 AND 0 for @GamecockWBB pic.twitter.com/0g92E5byXB
