Early 2025 NCAA women's national title odds: South Carolina favored to repeat, Iowa out of contention

Not many people saw South Carolina finishing 2024 as a national champion after a devastating Final Four loss to Iowa last year followed by Aliyah Boston’s exit for the WNBA.

However, now that Dawn Staley’s bunch pulled it off with an undefeated season, they won’t be catching anyone by surprise in 2025. With players like MiLayshia Fulwiley, Raven Johnson, Tessa Johnson and Chloe Kitts all expected back, the Gamecocks are strong favorites to repeat with +150 at BetMGM.

South Carolina is followed by Texas at +325, UConn at +475, Notre Dame at +700 and USC at +1000. The remaining teams with top-10 odds are UCLA (+1200), NC State (+2200), LSU (+3000), Stanford (+3500), Duke (+5000) and Iowa State (+5000).

One team most notably not mentioned is national runner-up Iowa, which will lose several seniors this offseason including likely No. 1 WNBA draft pick Caitlin Clark. Those losses are enough to have the Hawkeyes open at +50000 odds, which are tied with several teams for worst on the market.
