1. Gears 5
The pinnacle of the Gears formula, with plenty of content to keep you occupied, from the campaign, to multiplayer, to the addictive Horde mode.
2. Ori and the Will of the Wisps
A visually stunning platformer that might just be the best Xbox-exclusive franchise.
3. Yakuza 0
If you like beat-em-ups, action games of any sort, or even just Japanese culture, you owe it to yourself to get into the Yakuza series. It all starts with Yakuza 0.
4. Monster Hunter World
Monster Hunter is an acquired taste, but once it hooks you, you're going to be chasing down and slaying gigantic foes for hours on end.
5. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
Fulfill all your Top Gun fantasies in this exhilarating flight combat action thriller.
6. The Outer Worlds
Think Fallout 3, but in space. If Fallout 4 left a bad taste in your mouth, this is the perfect antidote.
7. Outer Wilds
Not to be confused with The Outer Worlds, Outer Wilds is a spectacular space adventure game that was one of the best titles of 2019.
8. PlayerUnkown's Battlegrounds
Many have switched over to Call of Duty Warzone, but if you prefer a slower, more methodical Battle Royale game, PUBG is still fantastic. The game recently added a new map, and the ability to party up with players on PS4.
9. Forza Horizon 4
A very polished arcade racer that's one of the best looking games on the system. You need not be a car nerd, but it helps.
10. Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition
If you're a veteran of older Final Fantasy titles, XV's combat system might be a bit overwhelming, but if you can get used to it you'll find a typically excellent and gorgeous JRPG beneath.
11. Slay the Spire
An addictive card-based rogue-like that will have you up all night saying 'one more run.'
12. Grand Theft Auto V
t's GTAV! I think you know what the deal is by now.
13. Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Halo: MCC had a horrible, horrible launch years ago, but the game has been fixed entirely. Want to relive the Halo 2 or Halo 3 online glory days? It's all here.
14. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The single greatest action RPG journey out there. It's a loooong experience, but the story is well worth the time. My personal game of the generation.
15. Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Think 'The Witcher 3,' but with a grounded story and brutally realistic combat.
16. Metal Gear Solid HD Edition: 2 & 3
MGS V was a polarizing title for many, and while you can also play that on Game Pass, why not go back to Hideo Kojima's true masterworks? The controls will be jarring at first, but you'll get it.
17. Jackbox Party Pack 3
A perfect and versatile party game capable of entertaining a room full of adults, or a mixed group of parents and kids.
18. Devil May Cry 5
Never-ending, fast-paced combat where killing enemies stylishly is as important as staying alive.
19. The Elder Scrolls Online
By now you've probably played Skyrim on every device you own. ESO offers more of the same, and you can play entirely solo if you wish, or get into the social aspects of an MMORPG.
20. Metro Exodus
Escape Moscow and shoot your way across Russia in this post-apocalyptic FPS.
21. DOOM
Doom Eternal just dropped and is amazing, so pick that up if you're willing to pay, but DOOM still holds up as one of the best FPS titles of the generation.
22. Dirt Rally 2.0
A seriously challenging rally sim that takes a lot of patience and skill, but feels incredibly rewarding once you start seeing results.
23. Frostpunk
A unique simulation/strategy game where your job is to keep a band of survivors alive in the fiercest climate imaginable, and are often faced with incredibly difficult choices.
24. NBA 2K20
Look, this game is littered with microtransactions like its predecessors, but it's still 2K.
