Eight undefeated teams remain through three weeks of the NFL regular season, and the list of 3-0 teams includes a few surprises. Which early division leaders are primed to make a playoff run, and which teams are in danger of fading?
To determine which teams have the best chance of making the playoffs in 2019, we crunched the numbers from the most recent playoff models from three major outlets – ESPN FPI, Football Outsiders, and Five Thirty Eight. Each team is ranked in order of their average projected chance to qualify for the playoffs. We’ve also included each team’s Super Bowl chances, according to the models.
BIG WINNERS FROM WEEK 3:
Texans: The Texans pulled out a key win over the Chargers on the road and saw the biggest playoff chance increase of any team, jumping from 43.9% after week 2 to 64.5% after Week 3.
Giants: The Giants’ comeback win on the road didn’t do much to increase their playoff chances, but the unpopular Daniel Jones pick may just pay off for New York.
BIG LOSERS FROM WEEK 3:
Eagles: The wounded Eagles’ offense continues to struggle, and Carson Wentz was unable to lead Philly past the Lions at home. With the loss, the Eagles’ playoff chances plummeted by 20%.
Titans: The Titans looked phenomenal in Week 1 – but back-to-back losses have dropped Tennessee’s playoff chances to just 31.3%.
