Below are 21 great shows that we love on the platform, organized in no particular order. There’s comedies, dramas, animation, horror, thrillers … whatever you’re into, there are some good options below.
Also: If it’s been a while since you’ve been on Hulu, they’re offering a package with ESPN+ and Disney+ where you get all three for $12.99 a month. Not a bad little deal if you’re in the market.
Here are 21 great TV shows to binge:
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer -- This classic bit of campy perfection is now on Hulu, and if you haven't taken the ride yet ... fix it.
2. Firefly -- Years before The Mandalorian would get fans all in a tizzy over the concept of a Space Western, there was Firefly, Joss Whedon's masterpiece that didn't get enough of a run. It's only two seasons (plus a movie!) but they're so good.
3. Little Fires Everywhere -- The new suburban drama, set in the 90s, has Kerry Washington as a troubled artist and Reece Witherspoon playing just a pitch perfect, lovely, monster of a woman.
4. Seinfeld -- Yes, Seinfeld is on Hulu. You can go watch it there. I don't need to summarize this show, I don't think.
5. black-ish -- This ABC comedy has had runs of brilliance that rival any sitcom of the last decade. Yes, it's a studio comedy, but it manages to explore deep themes and have real character development that will surprise you.
6. Lodge 49 -- The best show you've never heard of. I still don't understand how this didn't catch on with a bigger audience, but good lord, go watch it if you haven't yet.
7. Atlanta -- Donald Glover's surreal comedy (it feels weird to call it a comedy, but I guess that's what it is) is equal parts Master of None, Louie, and David Lynch.
8. pen15 -- A Hulu original, this coming-of-age story can be raunchy, silly, and sweet, but mostly it feels just spot on and honest, always.
9. Castle Rock -- This Stephen King adaptation, originally from FX, is the best kind of creepy.
10. Brooklyn Nine-Nine -- I'll admit I only got into this show because I kept seeing memes from it online, but man, it has moments that are fall-down funny, and Andy Samberg is hard to resist.
11. The Handmaid's Tale -- This adaptation of the Margaret Atwood novel is a dystopian look at a society gone to ruin. Might be too on-the-nose for our times here, but uh, it's really good!
12. Twin Peaks -- David Lynch's incredible show is a must-watch for any film buff, TV buff, or person who just likes to be a bit creeped out.
13. ER -- One of the great medical dramas ever, this show delivered weekly, and had a cast so good it's sort of flabbergasting to think about.
14. Adventure Time -- This is a cartoon that is silly and weird and every four episodes or so will hit you with a moment so devastating that you'll find yourself shaking on your couch, crying over a cartoon, wondering what on Earth just happened to you.
15. Killing Eve -- Killing Eve's first season might be my favorite season of television of the last five years or so. Equal part romance and assassin story, it also happens to be maybe the funniest show around, without even really trying to be.
16. Archer -- I don't know if a show has had better jokes, like, ever. Just good joke after good joke. Long running jokes and inside jokes and one-liner jokes, so many packed in you wonder how it's even possible.
17. LOST -- Damon Lindelof's network TV spectacular may have gone in a million different directions, and maybe never delivered the answers you wanted, but good heavens the ride was fun.
18. Fargo -- The FX adaptation of the Coen Brothers' film somehow managed to create a rich world of its own, one that took place in the same location, but never felt derivative. Each season went in a new direction, and each was so good.
19. Arrested Development -- After years on Netflix, the perfect comedy has arrived now on Hulu, and I'd list off 25 jokes from the show right now, but you either A) already know them and want to watch them again or B) need to discover them. Go do that.
20. Legion -- The FX show is unnerving, strange, maddening, but always, in the end, rewarding. It's a superhero show for people who don't normally like superhero shows, and I mean that as a compliment.
21. The Shield -- The gritty crime drama eventually became so normalized on TV it was almost cliche, but before all that, there was The Shield, a show so raw and unflinching it still feels essential, all these years later.
