The Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2019 was announced Saturday night during the NFL Honors award show, and a former Patriots hero received some incredible news on the eve of Super Bowl 53.
Chiefs safety Johnny Robinson was elected to the Hall of Fame as a senior finalist, while Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and longtime Cowboys scout Gil Brandt were elected as contributors.
Here is the list of players from the modern era who will be enshrined in Canton later this year.
Tony Gonzalez
Year of eligibility: 1st
Accomplishments: 14-time Pro Bowler, 6-time first-team All-Pro, most receiving yards and receptions by a tight end in NFL history
Ed Reed
Year of eligibility: 1st
Accomplishments: Super Bowl XLVII champion, 2004 NFL defensive player of the year, 9-time Pro Bowler, 5-time first-team All-Pro
Champ Bailey
Year of eligibility: 1st

Year of eligibility: 3rd
