Larry Nance Jr. is feeling pretty confident in his New Orleans Pelicans after earning a playoff spot on Friday night.
By defeating the Sacramento Kings, 105-98, in the Play-In Tournament, the Pelicans nabbed the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference and will face the No. 1 Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round starting Sunday night.
Despite the fact New Orleans went 1-2 against the Thunder in the regular season — and won’t have Zion Williamson back for at least two weeks — Nance isn’t worried about the matchup. The veteran told reporters he’s “betting” on the Pels.
Nance then quickly realized that wasn’t the best choice of words given the NBA just handed Jontay Porter a lifetime suspension for betting and hilariously clarified his comments.
Larry Nance: Respectfully, I'm bettin on the Pels. I'm not BETTING, no Jontay Porter. I'm not BETTING. I'm not betting on anything. I don't own a betting app, none of that. pic.twitter.com/0HgTbyXOHr

Great save, Larry. No notes.
