2023 World Cup Betting Breakdown Group D: England one of top contenders

The 2023 Women’s World Cup will feature plenty of formidable contenders vying for the ultimate trophy, and England is one of its strongest squads.

The English team will give the tournament favorite, USA, the strongest run for its money, and an ultimate victory for England would be its first-ever in FIFA Women’s World Cup history.

Also competing in this group are Denmark, China and Haiti. While England is a near certainty to advance past this stage to the knockout round, it’s certainly possible they could be joined by another team from this lineup.

Who else could surprise in Group D? Could England make it all the way to the finals? Let’s look at how the odds favor each team.

The Favorite: England

There’s not too much to say here other than England is a virtual lock to get out of Group D, barring an absolute shock.

The team has the second-best overall odds to win this year’s World Cup and poses a legitimate threat to Team USA to take home this year’s top honor.

Led by Rachel Daly and Alessia Russo, look for England to sail out of the first stage to the knockout stage with ease.

While no team in Group D has much of a chance of topping a powerhouse like England, Denmark has the second-best odds of any team in this assembling to make it to the second stage.

The team hasn’t qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup since 2007, and it’s very possible that absence on the world stage will drive the team to push for the knockout round.

At a recent friendly, Denmark got wins against Japan and Sweden. Could a surprise World Cup run be in order?
