Basketball never stops for many WNBA players. If they aren’t conquering new projects like writing a new book or becoming a broadcaster, most hoopers are playing in other professional leagues, such as Athletes Unlimited, to keep their skills sharp.
Athletes Unlimited (AU) is a professional sports organization that provides pro-level competition for WNBA players while allowing them to be critical decision-makers for the league. The 2024 AU Pro Basketball roster has 40 athletes, including 20 current WNBA players across four teams. More importantly, the season starts Thursday, February 29, and games will air on the WNBA app and ESPN+ as part of a more extensive deal to create exposure for women’s sports.
