Travis Etienne Jr. hilariously regretted playing against himself in fantasy football after monster game vs. Bills

With their inefficient and non-explosive offense floundering lately, the Jacksonville Jaguars turned to Travis Etienne Jr. to right the ship on Sunday. He delivered by rushing for 136 yards and two touchdowns (including the game-winner) in a pivotal 25-20 victory over the fellow AFC contender Buffalo Bills.

Despite the Jaguars’ much-needed course correction, Etienne Jr. was less than enthused about what his performance meant after the game. That’s because he realized he was playing against himself this week in fantasy football. In a standard point-per-reception (PPR) league (Etienne Jr. also caught four passes for 48 yards), he created over 38 points.

Such is the double-edged sword of being a difference-making skill player for a good team on the field. Sometimes, you’ll potentially ruin your own chances to win in fantasy:

If it’s any consolation for Etienne Jr., he should feel free to continue dominating as the Jaguars’ all-purpose lead back. At the very least, he probably won’t play himself in fantasy football again for a little while.

This is how Twitter reacted to Etienne Jr.'s regret
