If this is truly it for Tom Brady, it has been quite an NFL career for the future Hall of Fame quarterback and that’s putting things mildly.
News broke that Brady would be soon officially announcing his retirement after 22 seasons in the NFL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington.
He hasn’t officially announced his retirement yet because, per Schefter, he’s being careful not to “upstage the NFL’s postseason games or Super Bowl.” So we have no idea when the official announcement is coming. But it sounds like, once the season is officially over, we’ll get word one way or another on his future.

He didn’t quite make it to 50 years old in the league, but he got close enough at 44 and was still putting up numbers as if he were in the prime of his career.
Seven Super Bowl championships, 3 MVP awards, 15 Pro Bowl appearances and 624 touchdown passes later, he’s calling it a career. That’s not bad at all for the 199th pick in the draft.
Some fans from all across the internet took the time to reflect on and appreciate Brady’s career.

Tom Brady should be eligible to go into the Hall of Fame THIS YEAR. That’s how great he was. No doubt the greatest of all time.

Tom Brady said for years that he was going to play until he was 45 but instead he retired after leading the NFL in passing yardage and passing TDs at 44 years old. coward/fraud

Tom Brady was a starter for 20 seasons in the NFL.
He reached the Super Bowl in 10(!!!) of those seasons.
Just think about that.

Tom Brady said he wanted to play until 45. He nearly made it. But 22 seasons, 15 Pro Bowls, 3 MVPs, 7 Super Bowls will have to suffice.

Of course, some fans out there who have been terrorized by Brady throughout the years had jokes about him leaving. They were finally happy he was gone.

Regardless, everyone appreciated how good this dude still is. He told us he’d retire the day he sucked at football. But, as it turns out, that day was taking far too long.
Tom Brady made a promise to retire “when I suck” and even he couldn’t wait that long.

We’ll never see another player like this. Congrats on the career, Tom.
