Super Bowl 2022 is finally here and that can mean confusing times for sports bettors.

Ok, what do I need to know about the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals?

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Let’s start with the basics. Who are the two Super Bowl participants? How did they get here? Why should you bet on one versus the other?

The Bengals rode second-year quarterback Joe Burrow and rookie wideout Ja’Marr Chase to an extremely-ahead-of-schedule playoff run that has Cincy on the verge of hoisting its first Lombardi Trophy.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, built the closest thing to an All-Star team it could under league rules, striking deals for the likes of Matthew Stafford, Von Miller, Odell Beckham Jr. and plenty others for an overdue return to the NFL title game.

We’re updating line movement throughout Super Bowl Week right here.

The Rams opened at -4.5 favorites at Tipico, though as you’ll soon see, that might not be the best of news for Los Angeles fans already planning their championship parade.

Get to the fun prop bets already

Fine, fine.

Ever since William Perry nearly broke Caesars Sportsbook in Super Bowl XX, prop bets have been the best part of betting on the big game. This year’s offering runs a much wider gamut.

Here are the five most fun prop bets for Bengals-Rams.

And a few more Yes/No props that are more than worth the risk.

Does BetFTW have a preferred prop bet?

Oh, we sure do!

BetFTW teamed up with Tipico to offer the Run It Back Special.

We’re betting that the opening kickoff will not result in a touchback. Considering there hasn’t been a touchback on the opening kick since 2017, we feel pretty good about this one.

Tipico even boosted the odds from +125 to +150.

So who's winning Super Bowl MVP this year?

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

In one of the most wide-open Super Bowl MVP races in years, there aren’t as many true locks as there are a number of value plays. Our Prince Grimes broke down the MVP favorites by tier to help you make sense of it all.

Here are the players with the best odds to take home the honor.

We highly encourage you take a look at the best value plays for MVP as well as the top long-shots for the award, if you want to impress your friends with your tickets.

There’s also a real chance the Bengals’ kicker wins Super Bowl MVP. Seriously.

What does history say about 4.5-point favorites in the Super Bowl?

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

It’s great news for the Bengals—not so much for the Rams.

No team has ever outright won the Super Bowl when favored by 4.5 or 5.0 points against the spread.

But, hey, why not this year?

Who is Mattress Mack and why shouldn't I tail his bets?

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is a Houston retail magnate who’s become something of a sports betting icon for dropping massive wagers on notable events like the Kentucky Derby, Final Four, World Series and, of course, the Super Bowl.

His schtick works like this: Mack runs wild sales at his stores that promise to refund purchases that meet a certain minimum threshold (typically $3,000) if the team he bets on happens to win.

Mack provides great entertainment value with not-so-great betting advice. He’s on a bit of a cold streak lately and just dropped $4.5 million on the Bengals’ +170 moneyline odds.

My office is talking about Super Bowl Squares and I'm too afraid to ask what that means

It’s one of the most common games among coworkers, colleagues and friends every year and is actually rather simple.

Christian D’Andrea breaks down how to play and/or run your own Squares pool.

Is it too soon to think about Super Bowl 57 odds?

Absolutely not!

The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are tied for the shortest odds (+650) to win the Super Bowl next year.

Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans and New York Jets are all tied for the longest odds at (+10000).
