The New Orleans Pelicans social media team and Stephen A. Smith are in the wildest feud we’ve seen in some time. After Stephen A. went pretty low with some comments about Zion Williamson’s weight, the Pelicans went LOWER with their response. Their beef has been going on for days — yes, days — and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
It’s not a secret that Zion has struggled with his weight. Stephen A. has called Zion out before, but his comments made earlier this month felt very misplaced, considering Zion has been playing well lately. The Pelicans didn’t take too kindly to Smith unabashedly dunking on their guy and decided they had time to respond.
Does this feel personal at this point? YEAH. Does it feel petty? YOU BET. Is it a tad bit out-of-pocket? ABSOLUTELY. But it’s kind of glorious, and we can’t look away. If you’re like us, you’re probably wondering how in the world this beef escalated to these levels. Here’s how we got here:
Stephen A. claimed Zion had to decide if he wants to eat food or play basketball
"Zion Williamson, it's not about his game. It's about how many burgers he's eating. Whether he is going to be in shape or keep eating McDonald's… That's what he has to prove, that the chefs don't love him any longer"

New Orleans responded with a screenshot of Stephen A.'s stats during his time at Winston-Salem State University

But, the Pelicans weren't done. They were so fired up that they dropped a highlight reel of Stephen A.'s sports fails.

Then, Stephen A. responded with a TEN MINUTE rant to say he doesn't care.

However, New Orleans is still the ultimate troll because the Pels dropped this gem.
