5 NFL teams favored to win the most games in 2023-24, including the Philadelphia Eagles

As legalized sports betting has expanded in the United States over the past few years, oddsmakers have increased the number of offerings for bettors and put up existing markets more quickly than ever before.

As a result, we can now look at odds for all 17 games for every NFL team months before the regular season begins. While these will change over the course of the season as oddsmakers take injuries, team strength and other factors into account, they can provide an interesting snapshot of how a team may fare in the upcoming year.

Here are the five teams favored in the most games for the 2023-24 NFL season at DraftKings Sportsbook:

Kansas City Chiefs (17)

It almost seems unfair. The defending Super Bowl champions are the only team favored in all 17 of its games this season. The Chiefs are also favored to win this year’s Super Bowl (+600), are tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for the highest win total (11.5) and have MVP favorite Patrick Mahomes under center. Only three of their projected spreads are by a touchdown or greater, though.

San Francisco 49ers (16)

The 49ers are an interesting team. They have two former No. 3 overall picks at QB on the roster, but will be rolling with 2022’s Mr. Irrelevant (Brock Purdy) as their starter. And still, they are favored in all but one game (+2.5, Week 13 at Eagles). It shows the respect for head coach Kyle Shanahan and how loaded this roster truly is.

Cincinnati Bengals (15)

The Bengals got their first injury scare this season when Joe Burrow pulled up in practice. Fortunately, it’s just a calf strain, and he appears to be on track to start the season. Cincinnati is an underdog in only two games — Week 8 (+1 at 49ers) and Week 17 (+3 at Kansas City) — but also is a 1-point favorite in four other games, so this total could change quickly.

Philadelphia Eagles (15)

The defending NFC champions are favored in 15 games, despite playing a first-place schedule. The Eagles are a 7+ point favorite in five games, so they are likely to return to the postseason in a weak NFC. Week 11 (+3 at Chiefs) and Week 14 (+1 at Cowboys) are the only games Philadelphia isn’t favored in.

New Orleans Saints (14)

The one surprise — at least to me — on this list is the Saints. They are favored to win the NFC South in a down year for the division, but New Orleans also has the benefit of playing a weak AFC South and NFC North outside of its division. Derek Carr & Co. are currently favored in their last seven games this season.
