The NFL’s free agent signing period kicked off with a bunch of unofficial signings. Such is the nature of a legal tampering period.
The two-day buffers allows players and their agents to negotiate with teams for 48 hours ahead of the official opening of free agency on March 13. That means the early blockbuster deals that dominate the football news cycle aren’t quite set in stone, but they’re pretty dang close.
