Week 13 is nearly over in the 2020 NFL season.
Now we know who the bad teams are in the league, and there are some really, really, really bad teams.
And that’s why we do these rankings, as those bad teams look like they could be in the running for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, where the prize could be Trevor Lawrence, the superstar-in-the-making Clemson quarterback.
So let’s run through our latest edition of the un-power rankings in the NFL. It’s worth noting there’s a clear No. 1, so it could mean there are teams jockeying to see if they can pick Ohio State star Justin Fields.
9
Carolina Panthers
REMAINING SCHEDULE: vs. DEN, at GB, at WSH, vs. NO
They were on a bye this week and would currently own the No. 7 pick if the season ended on Monday. I see two games in which they have more than a shot at winning — they can beat the Broncos and Washington Football Team. So they’ll land here for now.
8
Atlanta Falcons
REMAINING SCHEDULE: at LAC, vs. TB, at KC, at TB
Woof. I guess given how the Chargers are playing, maybe the Falcons win one more game this year. If they don’t? They’ll have a 4-12 record.
7
Philadelphia Eagles
REMAINING SCHEDULE: vs. NO, at ARI, at DAL, vs. WSH
They would own the No. 6 pick right now, but with Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts drama … could they drop further? The problem is they could beat the Cowboys and MAYBE Washington … but with Wentz struggling and Hurts maybe starting, it’s hard to say they can beat anyone right now. So I’ll stick them here, just above WFT.
6
Washington Football Team
REMAINING SCHEDULE: at PIT (Monday), at SF, vs. SEA, vs. CAR, at PHI
This ranking assumes a loss to the unbeaten Steelers, and they’ll join a group of 4-8 teams that includes the Panthers, Falcons, Broncos and Texans (who will give their 2021 first-rounder to the Dolphins).
5
Dallas Cowboys
REMAINING SCHEDULE: at BAL (Tuesday), at CIN, vs. SF, vs. PHI, at NYG
Another assumption that they’re losing this week … but can they beat the Bengals? Hmm. That gets you to four wins and a drop from No. 5, where they’re at in the possible draft at the moment.
4
Los Angeles Chargers
REMAINING SCHEDULE: vs. ATL, at LV, vs. DEN, at KC
There are two very winnable games here … but do you have any faith in this team and its coaching staff to win them? Didn’t think so.
3
Cincinnati Bengals
REMAINING SCHEDULE: vs. DAL, vs. PIT, at HOU, vs. BAL
I don’t think they can beat the Cowboys … right??? Also: the tie helps here.
2
Jacksonville Jaguars
REMAINING SCHEDULE: vs. TEN, at BAL, vs. CHI, at IND
**Homer Simpson whisper** Hey, maybe you should stop trying to win with Mike Glennon and go back to Jake Luton.
1
New York Jets
REMAINING SCHEDULE: at SEA, at LAR, vs. CLE, at NE
Wow. WOW. WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
With just seconds left on Sunday, I was all set to crown a new No. 1 in these rankings, but then you know what happened:

I think they’re in the clear to get Lawrence at this point. The Browns will run all over them and Bill Belichick isn’t letting the Jets get that close on the road. So, uh, well done Gregg Williams?
