Mecole Hardman’s Super Bowl-winning touchdown reminded fans of Oz the Mentalist’s bizarre preseason prediction

It’s hard to say Oz Pearlman was wrong.

The magician, who also goes by Oz the Mentalist, pulled off an incredible trick during New York Jets training camp where he correctly predicted someone else’s Super Bowl prediction. The thing is, people took that prediction as his own and started betting on a 31-21 final score.

Instead, they should have focused on the person who made the prediction.

As shown on HBO’s Hard Knocks, Oz picked Mecole Hardman to make the Super Bowl prediction. And Hardman picked his team to beat the San Francisco 49ers — which Pearlman somehow knew he would. Of course, no one could have known Hardman would later be traded from the Jets to the Kansas City Chiefs, but that’s what makes all of this so bizarre. Not only did Oz pick the one future Super Bowl winner in that room as a participant, he picked the player who wound up scoring the game-winning touchdown.

NFL fans immediately remembered this moment after the game.
