NBA fans were furious to see that Kobe Bryant's statue had multiple embarrassing typos

It was wonderful for the Lakers to honor the late Kobe Bryant with a statue outside of their arena, yet the franchise managed to mess it up.

After recently unveiling the tribute to the 5-time champion in Los Angeles, fans noticed that the statue somehow had multiple typos. For example: The statue included a box score of the iconic performance in which Bryant scored 81 points against the Raptors in 2006.

Somehow, whoever designed the statue did not get anyone to make sure none of the names were spelled wrong. Former Toronto guard Jose Calderon, now a special advisor for the Cavaliers, was misspelled as Jose “Calderson” instead. Bryant’s former teammate Von Wafer was spelled as “Vom” Wafer.

Even the word decision was misspelled as “decicion” in “DNP-CD” which was also careless.

This statue should pay homage to one of the most meticulous, calculated and driven basketball players to ever live. Bryant literally had a show on ESPN called “DETAIL” because of his approach to the game.

Instead, the statue included a callous lack of respect and carelessness by completely disregarding some of the most important details available like the spelling of a name.
