The TEbow experiment is over in Jacksonville.
On Tuesday, after a pretty awful first preseason game that included two awful blocks, Tim Tebow was released by the Jaguars, ending his tenure as a tight end with the team coached by his former college bench boss Urban Meyer.
What’s next? Who knows! It seems doubtful that another team would use a roster spot now on a player who hadn’t ever played the tight end position before, especially one without the ties Tebow had to Meyer.
So let’s take one more look back on the past three months of Tebow at TE before we shut the door on this chapter of his career:
February 18: Tebow retires from baseball
He made it all the way to Triple-A with the New York Mets organization, and that’s still pretty amazing. It also set this whole thing in motion.

April 29: News broke that he worked out for the Jaguars as a tight end
That was the sound of everyone’s jaws hitting the floor when these tweets dropped.
Update on a former first-round pick: Tim Tebow recently worked out for the #Jaguars, source said, and there has been at least some discussion of him signing. Oh, and he’s a tight end now.

Tim Tebow recently reached out to the Jaguars and requested a tryout at the tight end position, per sources, a move many believe would have extended his NFL career had he made the transition earlier. He recently worked out with the Jaguars’ TE coach. No decision has been made.

May 10: It's happening!
Surreal at the time, still kind of surreal.
The #Jaguars are planning to sign QB-turned-TE Tim Tebow to a 1-year deal, per me and @TomPelissero, a deal that could be official in the next week or so. Nothing done yet. But he’ll have a chance to make the team to reunite with his mentor and college head coach Urban Meyer.

May 20: The first video of him in a Jags uni showed a very bulked-up Tebow
Makes sense if you want to be a tight end.

May 29: He caught a TD pass from Trevor Lawrence
TEEEEEBOWWWW. From the Florida Times-Union:
During Thursday’s two-hour practice, Tebow, who was not made available for comment, did not drop a pass.
And early on, he caught two short-yardage touchdown passes. He hauled in a pass from quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the left corner of the end zone and quarterback Gardner Minshew connected with him on another.
June 11: Meyer had some mixed things to say about Tebow
More from the Florida Times-Union:
“You wish you could see and do (more),” Meyer said. ”In spring football, you have full pads and scrimmages, and you can really evaluate, but it’s kind of tough right now.” …
“Oh, Tim has done a decent job. We all know this is a new position for him,” Meyer said. “He’s a great teammate. In the locker room, I can see everybody getting along, we have good chemistry on our team. But he’s picked it up decently.”

August 2: Not the most ringing of endorsements from Meyer
This was probably a sign that Tebow was too raw to keep on the roster.
“He has good hands. In his drill work, he’s great, but when you get in a competitive moment, just [because of his] lack of experience he wants to body the ball,” Meyer told reporters at Jaguars camp Saturday. “When you get to a point where two people are going after it, you have to go get the ball. He is fighting through that a little bit, but he has the skill set to catch the ball.”

Honestly, the Tebow block that went viral wasn't even his worst block of the night. This was *the very next play* pic.twitter.com/tINWyJpWSE

August 17: He's released
He was classy about the move:
Thank you to the @Jaguars organization and everyone who has supported me in this journey.
