Let’s just be honest. Bettors hardly ever need a reason to place a wager. We see a line we like, we take it and we ask very little questions.
But that doesn’t mean gamblers don’t absolutely love having a reason to place a bet. Why not make every day feel as exciting as Super Bowl Sunday? Well, fortunately, this Tuesday, February 22, 2022 has provided just the reason for us to get excited.
Sports bettors are already obsessed with numbers (read: odds), so let’s run down our best bets that take advantage of 2/22/22. But we’re adding a twist here and only looking at bets that prominently feature the number 2 or 22.

NHL
There are a few ways we can tackle NHL bets on 2/22/22. The first is a rather straightforward parlay of today’s six games—with each favorite laying 1.5 goals.
Here’s how that would look:
St. Louis Blues -1.5
Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5
Minnesota Wild -1.5
Florida Panthers -1.5
Anaheim Ducks -1.5
New York Islanders -1.5
Total Odds: +12281 (bet $100 to win $12,281)
That’s all good and well, but also a bit boring. Let’s go for a little more action and see what our odds look like if we parlay the first period total goals over 1.5 in each game.
St. Louis Blues vs. Philadelphia Flyers over 1.5 first period goals (-140)
Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Columbus Blue Jackets over 1.5 first period goals (-180)
Minnesota Wild vs. Ottawa Senators over 1.5 first period goals (-145)
Florida Panthers vs. Nashville Predators over 1.5 first period goals (-175)
Anaheim Ducks vs. San Jose Sharks over 1.5 first period goals (-125)
New York Islanders vs. Seattle Kraken over 1.5 first period goals (-102)
Total Odds: +2424 (bet $100 to win $2,424)
Betting on offense is always more fun and those odds don’t seem like too much of a long-shot. But what about players who are wearing No. 2 or No. 22? They’ve got to be a lock today, right?
Might as well try it out. Here’s what those odds look like (assuming everyone gets into the lineup).
Kevin Fiala, Minnesota Wild, No. 22: Over 0.5 goals (+180)
Kevin Shattenkirk, Anaheim Ducks, No. 22: Over 0.5 goals (+630)
Parlay odds: +1944 (bet $100 to win $1,944)
(Odds for Andrew Peeke, Nikita Zaitsev, Logan Brown and Mason Appleton—who each wear No. 22—haven’t been listed yet)
Men's College Basketball
A sport where points are most commonly scored in twos. You can’t find better vibes for 2/22/22!
Especially with a number of ranked matchups today. And oh, look at that, there’s a Big East showdown to get things started. You’ll never guess what the line is either.
No. 8 Villanova at No. 21 UConn (-2)
Seems like a great opportunity to hammer Nova as road underdogs. What else have we got on tap?
San Diego State at Boise State (-2)
Ok, not as thrilling, but a line that we can’t ignore today. Probably another good parlay opportunity here, regardless which way you’re leaning on the teams involved.
I’ll also be watching closely to see where the line is set for Christian Braun’s scoring as the guard who wears No. 2 leads No. 5 Kansas against rival Kansas State at Allen Fieldhouse. And, of course, KU enters the matchup with 22 wins this season.
That’s also the reason I’m riding with No. 18 Arkansas tonight. The Razorbacks face a tough road matchup against Florida in Gainesville, but if Arkansas (-1.5) can pull off the victory, it’ll have its 22nd win on the year.
The same goes for Toledo (-13.5) against Western Michigan, but with an added twist. Not only can the Rockets earn their 22nd win this season, the Broncos are one defeat away from their 22nd loss.
No. 9 Texas Tech (-9.5) goes for its 22nd win of the year against Oklahoma while Texas A&M (-12.5) attempts to hand Georgia its 22nd loss.
And just to bring it all back home—if Boise State and Villanova win tonight, they’ll each have 22 victories on the year.
If we take every team going for a 22nd win or 22nd loss, we end up with a moneyline parlay that looks like this:
Toledo (-1000)
Texas A&M (-800)
Texas Tech (-550)
Villanova (+120)
Boise State (-145)
Arkansas (-120)
Total Odds: +897 (bet $100 to win $897)
Soccer
Oh yeah, that’s the sweet lovely sound of The Champions League theme song you hear in your head. And we can make some very fun bets with today’s slate.
For instance, Chelsea face Lille (at 2pm CT, no less).
The correct score of 2-0 is +380 at Tipico. A 2-2 draw is +3000. Chelsea total goals over 1.5 is -200 (HELLO!) and Lille over 1.5 goals is +500. Over 1.5 total goals for the match in general is -380.
Chelsea defender Antonio Rüdiger, who wears No. 2, is +850 as an anytime goalscorer (+1700 first goal). Midfielder Hakim Ziyech, who wears No. 22, is +185 to score anytime (+500 first goal). For Lille, the odds are a bit longer. An anytime goal by No. 2 Zeki Celik is +5000 (+10000 first goal). Timothy Weah is +750 anytime (+1600 first goal)
In Villarreal vs. Juventus, over 1.5 total goals is -260. A correct score of 2-0 is +950 and a 2-2 draw is +1300.
Juventus over 1.5 goals is +190.
The only thing left to do is place your bets and get to winning. We recommend a unit that begins with a ‘2’ today because, well, you get the idea by now.
