The Golden State Warriors have effectively already begun their postseason. Mired as just the 10th seed in the Western Conference, Golden State has basically no margin for error down the stretch to stay within play-in range. And Draymond Green just unnecessarily fueled the fire of the Houston Rockets — the one West team with a legitimate chance of chasing the Warriors down.
After a disspiriting 114-110 Warriors road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night, Green was asked about his concern level over the young Rockets. At the time of this writing, they have won 10 of their last 11 games, surging behind the brilliance of the young Jalen Green. As it stands, Houston is just one game behind Green’s Warriors for that last play-in spot in the Western Conference.
Evidently, none of those facts move Green in the slightest:

Hoo, man, that is probably the last thing I’d say in public as my veteran team struggles to stay afloat in a playoff race. It’s one thing for Green to say this privately to teammates in the locker room. But to air that out in public, to so casually dismiss a young, up-and-coming team that is brimming with confidence right now, is probably a huge mistake.
The Rockets were already hot on the tail of the Warriors. Now, with Green’s nonchalant comments in mind, an April 4 de facto playoff matchup between these two squads just got a lot spicier. Heck, Houston might be the team that eliminates the Warriors from the postseason altogether. From that perspective, Green better hope the Rockets don’t make him eat his words.
