The Los Angeles Clippers are getting a rebrand next season, which is really for the best.
With the Clips playing in a new arena — the Intuit Dome, the $2 billion project with the area known as The Wall and so many toilets — next season, it was the best time for it, and now we’ve got new uniforms (which are AWESOME) and a new logo that turns the team from generic to … seafaring!
It’s meant to harken back to the naval clipper ships in San Diego, which was where the Clippers started.
And while the new logo is spiffy, fans compared it to stuff on X (formerly Twitter). Here’s what they came up with:
1
A mega yacht
The Clippers rebranding with a logo of a clipper ship that actually looks more like a mega yacht is almost too on the nose for the Ballmer era.

An insurance company logo
The new Clippers logo looks like it's for an insurance company that won't cover homes in certain states due to climate change pic.twitter.com/9bW2dhqdRC

An SB Nation team blog logo
the logo is probably fine but the first thing I think when I see these types of rebrands is "wait that looks like an SB Nation team blog logo" https://t.co/v5Vf1Pzp30

A soccer franchise logo
I love the uniforms. The logo has to grow on me though. Looks more like a soccer logo. https://t.co/CNc8yyidwS
