Part 1 of, “guys we have to list because they’re always going to be a threat to win it.” Want another reason? Fine. He finished T3 in 2021.

Part 1 of, “guys we have to list because they’re always going to be a threat to win it.” Also: he finished T8 in 2021.

It’s a major, so we’re contractually obligated to list him, especially because he’s finished top-10 in this event FOUR times.

Just because he won it last year doesn’t mean we should suddenly discount him. Look at the year he’s having! Fourth at the U.S. Open, T9 at the PGA!

He’s won it before, he won last week, he’ll have the crowd behind him … seriously, what more would you want?

6
Patrick Cantlay (+2200)

May I remind you that he finished T8 here last year? Slow play jokes will be abound, but let’s take him seriously. He’s knocking at the door.

Tommy Fleetwood (+2500)

Love the game for the course, love the recent form, love the history (T4 in 2022, second in 2019).

I took him in our picks, and here’s why: He’s looked REALLY good of late, he’s been intriguing at past Opens … so let’s see what happens.

9
Xander Schauffele (+2500)

Rob Schumacher-USA TODAY Sports

Is THIS the week he does it? Far from out of the question.

You always need to pick him to win even if he hasn’t looked as good as when he won in 2019.
