Alan Wake 2 might have only recently launched on PC and console, but Remedy already has big plans for Alan Wake 2 DLC, including two full expansions. Sorry Alan, old buddy, your nightmare ain’t over yet. Both expansions for the survival horror game are planned for sometime in 2024, after the update that brings a new campaign to the game in New Game+ mode. You can either buy each expansion separately when they launch or get the whole package with the Alan Wake 2 deluxe edition.
Remedy announced two expansions so far, which is in keeping with their approach to the first Alan Wake and Control. More may be in the works for later, but for now, this is all the Alan Wake 2 DLC we know about.
Alan Wake 2 DLC 1 – Night Springs
Night Springs puts you in control of more characters from the Alan Wake universe, though Remedy didn’t say who they are. Their stories unfold in “contained episodes” of the Night Springs TV show, and since it’s Alan Wake, you can expect those stories to be weird, probably a little scary, and more than a little traumatic for the people involved. Expect plenty of meta storytelling and maybe even some ties to other parts of the Remedy universe.
Remedy doesn’t have a date yet for the Alan Wake 2 Night Springs DLC, though the team plans to launch it sometime in 2024.
Alan Wake 2 DLC 2 – The Lake House
Yep, it’s that Lake House, nestled on the shores of Cauldron Lake from the original Alan Wake. A secret government organization, a research facility, and ambitious scientists all play a role, and as you’d expect, something goes terribly wrong in their project. Remedy said The Lake House will bring Saga Anderson and the game’s eponymous hero back for another mind-bending, dual-protagonist adventure, and seeing as Control’s second expansion led into Alan Wake 2, fans are expecting some kind of Control 2 tease in The Lake House as well.
The Lake House will also launch sometime in 2024, presumably in the year’s later half.
Meanwhile, if you’re stuck on Alan Wake 2‘s TV studio puzzle early in the game, our studio door code guide will help get you back on track.
