Where’s Aaron Rodgers going?
Or … could he actually stay with the Green Bay Packers, who he’s reportedly VERY unhappy with?
That’s the question on the minds of NFL fans everywhere. The reigning MVP could be done with the franchise he’s played for since the Pack drafted him in 2005, which means there are a handful of teams who could trade for him (assuming he doesn’t retire first). And let’s remember that the Packers don’t have to trade him.
But let’s have some fun here. Which of the 32 franchises could be the best landing spot for Rodgers, regardless of cap room and what they could give up in trades? We factor in a few things, from readiness to win right now to room for the QB to start to the city itself and such.
Away we go:
32
Houston Texans
A mess both with the roster and with the front office. No thank you.
31
Detroit Lions
In a rebuilding phase, so I don’t see Rodgers wanting to play there if he had a choice. But they did draft Penei Sewell, so Rodgers would have some good protection!

We’ve reached the “We’ve got a young star here, so we’ll just stick with him, thank you” portion of our rankings.
29
Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow, future star! Although for Rodgers, that receiver corps looks really good on paper … but the offensive line does not.
28
Kansas City Chiefs
The “Yeah, we’ve got a superstar here, we’re good” tier, starting with that Patrick Mahomes dude. No room for Rodgers here.
27
Baltimore Ravens
I’d say the Ravens are more than happy with Lamar Jackson even after he took a step back statistically last season.
26
Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray is awesome. That’s it. Next!
25
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen had a monster year, so I don’t think the Bills would look to trade for Rodgers, even though bringing an MVP to this contender might put them over the top (I’m kidding, Buffalo, I promise!! Please don’t throw me through a table).
24
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The only reason they’re even this high is because Rodgers is younger than Tom Brady and this team would be even more of a contender with Rodgers, but c’mon, the politics of this would be so wild for all parties involved.
Which means: how much would it break Twitter if the Bucs traded for Aaron Rodgers?? I WANT IT.
23
Dallas Cowboys
Dak is their guy and rightfully so … but I could totally see Jerry Jones taking a minute or two to consider the possibility of trading for Rodgers, hence why they’re a bit higher.
22
Los Angeles Chargers
Only up here because Los Angeles, which means the Jeopardy! job is an easier commute. Otherwise, the Justin Herbert Era is in Year 2.

Hey, Brett Favre played for one of the Packers’ big rivals. Anything can happen. This would be a great way to end Kirk Cousins’ run and try for a Super Bowl — wouldn’t Rodgers love throwing to Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson?
Plus: revenge games against the Packers twice a year!
20
Chicago Bears
“But they drafted Justin Fields!” you say. Well, fine, but he can sit for a few years and the Bears can ride Rodgers and their stellar defense to contention. It would make Allen Robinson happy, too!
See above re: revenge games.
19
Atlanta Falcons
If Rodgers wants a receiving corps, here’s a REALLY good group. So what if Matt Ryan is there?
18
New Orleans Saints
Taysom Hill — once a Packer! — and lots of first-round picks for Rodgers, who says no? Sorry, Jameis.
17
Indianapolis Colts
What if this team didn’t know that Rodgers was available? Would they have acquired Carson Wentz earlier this year? Quite a what if. But this team is ready right now to be among the best in the AFC, and Rodgers might make them among the favorites.
16
New York Jets
Stop laughing. It’s New York (or suburban New Jersey)! Rodgers might like living there. Zach Wilson can sit for a while. It’s not the BEST New York option, though …
15
Carolina Panthers
Ignore the presence of Sam Darnold (and apologies to Darnold, who would be jobbed here if this happened). Matt Rhule would probably have a field day with Rodgers.
14
Tennessee Titans
Sort of like the Colts and some other teams with settled QB situations — can the Titans really win a Super Bowl with Ryan Tannehill???? Also, Nashville is fun.
13
Cleveland Browns
I’m about to get a lot of hate mail from Cleveland.
Look: Baker Mayfield had a good year. But you’re telling me this front office would say “nope!” to acquiring Rodgers and starting him over Baker? Especially when their window of contention might be opening up starting this season?
I don’t think this is happening. But you get the picture. It’s Aaron Rodgers we’re talking about here!
12
New England Patriots
Cue the memes!

Here’s what I’m wondering: would Rodgers really want to play for extremely serious Bill Belichick? In very cold Massachusetts? Not as much of a lock as one would think.
11
Philadelphia Eagles
Feels like their eggs are in the Jalen Hurts basket, which would probably change in a heartbeat if they were to acquire Rodgers. Plus, Philly is a fun city!
10
Seattle Seahawks
This is actually perfect: Rodgers for Russell Wilson — who has expressed his own unhappiness this offseason — straight up. Wilson comes back to Wisconsin (where he starred in college), Rodgers gets to the West Coast and immediately fits in with a good team. Win win!
9
Washington Football Team
A couple of seasons ago, I might have scoffed.
Yet! The defense is good, the offense has some weapons on it and Rodgers > Fitzmagic. Not a bad option for all involved!
8
New York Giants
An offense with vast improvements at receiver, Saquon Barkley returning from injury, an underrated defense and New York City. A darkhorse option, if I were Rodgers and I had any control over my destination.
7
Pittsburgh Steelers
In a vacuum, playing for a perpetual contender that’s consistently good on both sides of the ball and a franchise with the most stable head coaching job in the NFL seems like a great landing spot!
6
Las Vegas Raiders
I know it’s been reported that this is one of the teams that interests him, and I can’t figure out why beyond “VEGAS BABY!”
Seriously though, is this team going to play for a Super Bowl in the next few years while Rodgers is still in his 30s? Is there enough enticing stuff on offense to get him pumped? Is there something about Jon Gruden? As you can see from the ranking, I’m not sure it’s as good of an option.
Obviously, the Raiders would do this in a heartbeat and wish Derek Carr the best.
5
Denver Broncos
I get it. These days, they’re always one QB away from being elite. Jerry Jeudy could break out in Year 2, as could Noah Fant in his third season. The defense is perpetually awesome. But there are better fits for him.
4
Miami Dolphins
A team that’s already on the verge of the playoffs … but there are questions about Tua Tagovailoa. So: go to Miami and all that good weather (a little different that what he’s used to in Green Bay, eh?) and enjoy yourself while playing for a title.
3
Green Bay Packers
Hey, listen: they nearly made it to the Super Bowl last year. If this relationship can somehow be repaired (doubtful??), this team is good. Like, really good.
2
Los Angeles Rams
I’ll take “Near-perfect fits” for $1,000, Aaron.
Here’s the clue: this team in the City of Angels traded for a quarterback this offseason, but that shouldn’t stop them from doing the same with this defending NFL MVP who could be the host of Jeopardy! in the future.
You already know the punchline. Seriously though: did you know that SoFi Stadium is like a 20-minute drive from where they film Jeopardy! in Culver City?
1
San Francisco 49ers
Duh. The California kid comes back and plays for the team he rooted for.
Oh sure, they just drafted Trey Lance. But Lance might need a couple of years before he’s ready and the Niners are in a place where they could very easily win the NFC. So you shove all-in AND you get to keep the QB of the future because the Packers already have theirs and everyone wins.
