In the world of NFL Draft betting, many aren’t frightened off by big odds because they may view a pick as a certainty. That seems to be the case with USC quarterback Caleb Williams to go No. 1 overall in Thursday’s NFL Draft.
Williams has been the favorite for a long time to go No. 1 at sportsbooks, but he’s become an overwhelming favorite (as high as -500000 at some books, meaning a $5,000 bet wins $1) recently.
That didn’t deter one bettor at Caesars Sportsbook, who wagered $100,000 on Williams to go No. 1 at -20000 odds.
If Williams indeed goes No. 1 to the Chicago Bears as widely expected, the bettor would only win $500. It’s certainly risky to put that much capital up for such a small return; on the other hand, it’s likely as “free” a $500 as you can get in the betting world.
