2024 WNBA Draft position odds and predictions: Who comes off the board after Caitlin Clark?

The WNBA Draft is Monday, and while there remains a ton of mystery around where players like Kamilla Cardoso and Aaliyah Edwards will end up, one thing we don’t have to guess is what will happen with the No. 1 pick.

The Indiana Fever are the first team on the clock, and they’ll almost certainly take Caitlin Clark with the top pick. In fact, most sportsbooks aren’t even offering odds for the No. 1 pick anymore. It’s that much of a lock. There are already plans for Jake from State Farm to congratulate Clark after she’s selected. The Fever (and the entire league, really) have been planning for her debut ever since they were locked into the top pick.

With that much settled, it’s worth taking a look at odds for the picks after Clark. FanDuel has active markets for two through six, and they give a glimpse into how the draft order may play out. Here’s a look at those odds, along with best bets based on mock drafts.

No. 2 pick, Los Angeles Sparks

  • Cameron Brink (-9000)
  • Rickea Jackson, Kamilla Cardoso (+1600)
  • Angel Reese (+3400)
  • Caitlin Clark (+10000)

Pick: Brink

FTW’s Meghan Hall boldly predicted Brink to slide to fourth in her latest mock, but unless that turns out prophetic, the Stanford standout seems likely to be second off the board.

No. 3 pick, Chicago Sky

  • Kamilla Cardoso (-210)
  • Rickea Jackson (+110)
  • Aaliyah Edwards, Angel Reese, Jacy Sheldon, Cameron Brink (+2000)

Pick: Jackson

Cardoso played her way into this pick for a lot of people with the way she led South Carolina on its national championship run, but if I’m betting on No. 3 this late in the process, I’m going with Jackson’s odds. There are still enough people who think the Tennessee star is the pick here.

No. 4 pick, Los Angeles Sparks

  • Rickea Jackson (-150)
  • Kamilla Cardoso (-115)
  • Aaliyah Edwards (+750)
  • Jacy Sheldon (+1500)
  • Angel Reese, Cameron Brink (+2000)

Pick: Cardoso

I’m curious about the fit of Cardoso with Brink, but with Jackson presumably off the board, I can’t see the Sparks passing on Cardoso here.

No. 5 pick, Dallas Wings

  • Jacy Sheldon (-170)
  • Aaliyah Edwards (+230)
  • Angel Reese (+1000)
  • Charisma Osborne, Kamilla Cardoso, Rickea Jackson, Alissa Pili, Isobel Borlase, Taiyanna Jackson, Nyadiew Puoch, Dyaisha Fair (+2000)

Pick: Sheldon

Though Edwards has the second-best odds here, I don’t see many mocks actually picking her to go fifth. Sheldon seems to be the strong consensus here, as the odds suggest.

No. 6 pick, Washington Mystics

  • Aaliyah Edwards (-125)
  • Jacy Sheldon (+250)
  • Angel Reese, Leila Lacan, Charisma Osborne (+1000)
  • Alissa Pili (+1600)
  • Nyadiew Puoch, Taiyanna Jackson, Dyaisha Fair, Isobel Borlase (+2000)

Pick: Edwards

As someone who roots for the Mystics, I wouldn’t mind seeing the near-hometown kid Angel Reese go to the Mystics. But Edwards would be a great pick for Washington, and the UConn forward seems to be the likely pick.
