Rory McIlroy is among the favorites to win this year’s Masters, so he’ll have no shortage of the betting public rooting for him to finally conquer the last major tournament to elude him. One bettor in particular made sure his guests at a Masters viewing party would be coming along on that ride with him.
X user Coby DuBose said he purchased $50 outright bets on McIlroy as party favors. When questioned about the authenticity of his claims, DuBose shared a photo of the Circa sportsbook tickets to prove it.
“Might have made $50 Rory outright bets to give out as party favors at my Masters party Saturday and I CANT WAIT to watch a bunch of nice, unassuming normies take in (sic) involuntary ride on the Rory Train sweating their first outright,” DuBose said.
Many people are asking if this is real and brother I tell you REAL is the brand https://t.co/8wjKOUUQLu pic.twitter.com/ZC06nOyb8k

At +1225 odds — which rank second in the field — each ticket would win $612. These could turn out to be some lucrative gifts. But anyone who ever bet on McIlroy to win one of his previous 14 Masters appearances knows just how cruel they may turn out to be too.
These party guests probably showed up just hoping to have a couple drinks and maybe some Hors d’oeuvres, with the Masters simply a broadcast in the background. Now they suddenly have a reason to care about what happens — and McIlroy will give them hope, with just two missed cuts and seven top-10 finishes in his career at Augusta. If history repeats itself, though, it’ll end with a ton of disappointment.
