The NHL regular season is almost over and teams are ramping up for what could be one of the most exciting playoffs we’ve seen in a long time.
Multiple teams could realistically find themselves hoisting Lord Stanley and a number of superstar players could build (or cement) their legacy as playoff heroes when the postseason begins on April 22.
The Vegas Golden Knights are defending champs and could be dangerous if they’re 100 percent healthy once the playoffs start. Meanwhile, the Eastern Conference is loaded with contenders like the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs.
Here are three of the best future bets for who could be crowned champions.

New York Rangers (+900)
The New York Rangers have it all — a Vezina Trophy-level goalie in Igor Shesterkin, a Hart Trophy candidate in Panarin and they’re incredibly physically tough. Special teams are always critical in the playoffs and the Rangers have the fourth best power play in the league (25.8%). Adam Fox is a great quarterback with the man advantage, and Mika Zibanejad is a lethal sniper. Putting your faith and cash in elite goaltending is never a bad choice. Hopefully, the James Dolan curse won’t ruin your chances of cashing his kind of bet.
Vegas Golden Knights (+1200)
If you were to look up “teams you don’t want to play,” the Vegas Golden Knights would be at the top of the list. They added Noah Hanifin and Tomas Hertl at the trade deadline, but their biggest addition could come when they get Mark Stone back from injury.Their defensive core is big, terrifying and perfect for how physical the NHL playoffs are. Vegas’ experience in the playoffs will be critical in this year’s playoffs and makes for an awesome value bet. The Golden Knights have become the villains of sorts in different hockey circles, but sometimes the bad guys win. Vegas and its core group of players have proven they can win playoff hockey games.
Winnipeg Jets (+2000)
The formula to win in the Stanley Cup Playoff is elite goaltending, physical defensemen and star goal scorers. The Winnipeg Jets have all of that. Connor Hellebuyck is the odds-on favorite (-650) to win the Vezina Trophy, and he could be the sole reason you make this kind of wager. He has recorded 33 wins this season and has a 2.42 goals-against average. Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele are great goal-scorers. They also have veterans like Tyler Toffoli, who have proven to be clutch in deep playoff runs. The Jets had a rough end to their season last year, but they’ve bounced back with vengeance. Winnipeg should be considered one of the most dangerous teams, and their “White Out” for home playoff games is a tremendous experience.
A Canadian team hasn’t won the Stanley Cup since the 1992–93 season, but the Jets at (+2000) are a great bet at that value.
