It was impossible to walk into an MLB clubhouse during spring training without hearing some strong opinions about the new uniforms. More specifically, the pants.
As part of a partnership between MLB, Nike and Fanatics, teams across baseball were set to wear new light-fit jerseys and pants for the 2024 season. The reviews have been overwhelmingly negative from players as the pants both appear see-through and don’t have the customizable sizing that MLB players prefer.
It was so bad that some players straight-up refused to wear the new pants during spring training. And when the regular season opened this past week, several players continued their holdout on the new pants (you can tell the difference from the belt loops).
Here are some of the players who wore the old pants in the first regular season games.
