The Dallas Cowboys are at a crossroads this offseason. After winning the 2023 NFC East title, Dallas couldn’t even win a single playoff round with one of the NFL’s best rosters. And even after a mostly empty free agency period (by design), expectations are still sky-high that Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott eventually get over the hump to make a deep postseason run.
As the NFL’s annual league meeting came to a close, owner Jerry Jones was asked about his team’s upcoming Super Bowl prospects. Specifically, he talked about Dak Prescott and whether he was the kind of quarterback who could win the Big Game. But in an apparent photo of the moment captured by David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, Jones has a big important notebook in his lap.
And when you zoom in on the notebook, all that’s seemingly visible are some aimless, random doodles:

Something important is on our mind, or we’re just trying to pass the time, and that notebook on our lap ends up with a few random slashes and dashes. It happens. It’s just funny that it happened with one of the NFL’s more prominent owners while he discussed his franchise’s future Super Bowl hopes.
