Nevada blowing a 17-point lead to Dayton crushed bettors with a bad beat

For a while there, No. 10 Nevada looked like it was going to coast past No. 7 Dayton in the first round of the 2024 men’s NCAA tournament.

However, the spirit of March Madness would allow for no obvious outcome.

In the last 7:19 of the game with Nevada leading 56-39, Dayton went on a stunning 24-4 run to stun the Wolf Pack with a 63-60 win and advance to the Round of 32.

It was an epic, 17-point collapse for Nevada, one that absolutely doomed those who bet on the team to cover the -1.5 spread.

That looked like a virtual inevitability before Dayton’s enormous comeback, but now it’s one of the clear bad beats of this tournament so far.

If you’re a Nevada fan (or bettor), you have to be sick to your stomach about watching the Wolf Pack blow the lead in such dramatic fashion.

If you’re a Dayton fan (or bettor), you got the ball tipped in your direction in the most March Madness way possible.
