Fans thought it was hilarious that Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce waved at Taylor Swift from the sidelines

Sunday’s Week 3 game between the Chiefs and Bears was just about the most surreal scene Arrowhead Stadium could get for a non-competitive game this early in the season.

That’s the Taylor Swift effect in action.

After weeks of speculation about Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, an entire stadium was shocked to see Swift herself show up to the game in the Kelce family suite. It turned out that even the Chiefs players were in awe of Swift’s presence at the game.

Before Patrick Mahomes admitted to Erin Andrews that he felt pressure to get Kelce a touchdown in front of Swift, footage from the game showed both Mahomes and Kelce waving at Swift from the sidelines.

That’s as close to high school football vibes — a star player’s teammates waving at his homecoming queen girlfriend — as you’ll get in the NFL, and it was honestly delightful to see. Just watch how star struck the entire team was:

@miss.petty.lamarr I can’t help but be amused by all of this ✨ #taylorswift #traviskelce #chiefs #nfl #swifttok ♬ you belong with me sped up – r & m &lt33

No wonder fans loved that footage. That simply does not happen on NFL sidelines, but we’re glad it did on Sunday.

This was how Twitter reacted

To be fair, when you’re playing the Bears, you can get away with that.
