The Houston Texans’ rise from a three-win team in 2022 to a 10-win playoff team in 2023 was truly something to behold. But what they have the potential to do in 2024 can be even more special.
After seeing what C.J. Stroud did during an incredible Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign, Houston spent this offseason building up the offense around him and took the biggest step yet Wednesday. The Texans traded for Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
Stefon Diggs! Just look at their depth chart now. It’s a move sure to draw some attention to their Super Bowl odds, which BetMGM already had tied for ninth at +2000 (fifth-best in the AFC) prior to the trade. Now they’re up to +1500, which ranks seventh overall, just behind the Bills and Cincinnati Bengals at +1400.

The trade also makes Houston a bigger favorite to repeat as the AFC South winner. Prior to the trade, they were already the division’s top dog at +160, leading the Jacksonville Jaguars at +220. That gap has already widened, as Diggs takes what was already shaping up to be a very good offense to potential greatness.
Houston’s odds to win the division have moved to +120 after the trade, with Jacksonville dropping to +260. The Indianapolis Colts are at +325 and the Tennessee Titans are +700.
