A potential 6-quarterback first round leaves NFL Draft bettors with big decisions

Every year in the NFL Draft, it seems like quarterbacks are late risers, and with such a strong QB class in 2024, it’s no surprise that there is some buzz picking up steam over who will go in the first round.

Michael Lombardi said on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday that he “believes there will be six quarterbacks taken in the first round.” Lombardi also noted in the VSiN newsletter that he has “a good source that Bo Nix will go in the first round,” and that Michael Penix Jr. will go in Round 1 as well.

There doesn’t seem to be much debate that if six quarterbacks indeed go in Round 1 that it will be those two (plus the four locks of Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye and J.J. McCarthy), but it’s still a bold proclamation to make.

The over/under at sportsbooks is currently 4.5, and it’s heavily juiced to the over.

Will we actually see six QBs drafted on Thursday night? Only time will tell.
