Raptors' Jontay Porter reportedly bet millions with a FanDuel VIP account

As the NBA’s reported investigation into Toronto Raptors center Jontay Porter for irregular betting activity continues, a new report has found that Porter did at least gamble on other sports. And he did it a lot.

Porter owned and operated a FanDuel VIP account in Colorado that wagered millions of dollars on over 1,000 bets from 2021 to 2023, Action Network reported Tuesday. However, FanDuel didn’t accept any bets on the NBA or college basketball from Porter, according to the report.

SportsHandle reporting also found that Porter didn’t bet on the NBA or college basketball over that period. It’s not against NBA rules for players to bet on other sports.

None of this is to suggest Porter is in the clear in regards to the NBA’s investigation. The Colorado Division of Gaming asked the state’s sportsbooks to report any accounts operated by Porter by a Monday deadline, and this presumably came from that. Porter finished the season on leave from the Raptors after irregular activity on his prop bets from games he left early was reported. Adam Silver said Porter could be banned from the NBA if he’s found guilty of influencing bets.
