NBA fans couldn’t believe how small the 76ers made Allen Iverson’s statue

The Philadelphia 76ers honored former superstar guard Allen Iverson with a statue in his likeness at the team’s “Legends Walk” outside its practice facility in Camden, New Jersey, on Friday.

It’s a fitting honor for Iverson, a 2016 Hall of Fame inductee who played 14 seasons in the NBA. The first 10 of those were spent with Philadelphia, which drafted Iverson first overall in 1996. The 11-time All-Star was named the NBA’s MVP with the 76ers in 2001.

There’s no denying Iverson deserved a statue, but there was one problem that fans immediately picked up on when the statue was unveiled: It is very, very small.

In fairness to the Sixers, all the statues in the Legends Walk seem to be scaled down rather than life-size.

Regardless, that didn’t stop fans from making all sorts of jokes about the size of Iverson’s statue. Here were the best reactions on X (formerly Twitter).
