Top WR prospect Marvin Harrison Jr. will forgo an agent in unorthodox pre-NFL draft plan

Barring something entirely unforeseen, former Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will be a top-five pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL draft.

Harrison — the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison — is considered by many to be a generational wide receiver prospect, and with that sterling draft pedigree, it gives him the leeway to do things a bit differently than most players vying to hear their names called in April.

He will be undergoing a fairly unorthodox pre-draft plan that includes not hiring an agent, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. He did not proceed with normal pre-combine training, and he will not test in Indianapolis this week.

He’s also not expected to test at Ohio State’s pro day and will instead remain in Columbus and work with Buckeyes strength and conditioning coach Mickey Mariotti.

After seeing light work as a true freshman in 2021, Harrison has been the engine through which Ohio State’s offense has run over the last two seasons. He exceeded 1,200 yards in both 2022 and 2023, recording 14 receiving touchdowns in each campaign.

He also won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top pass-catcher this season.

Harrison will likely be the first non-quarterback selected in the draft, and it seems his emphasis is now on preparing for his rookie season in the NFL rather than the pre-draft circus.
