Texans bettors suffered a horrible bad beat because C.J. Stroud kneeled during 2-point conversion attempt

This late-game decision from C.J. Stroud may have caused the most horrific bad beat of all time.

On Sunday, the Houston Texans beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 39-37 thanks to a stunning final drive from Stroud in the final minute of play. The Texans entered Sunday’s game as a three-point favorite and bettors were likely salivating after Stroud’s late-game heroics helped pull out the victory.

However, with kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn injured and backup running back Dare Ogunbowale replacing him for kicks, the Texans didn’t want to give the Buccaneers any hope of getting back in the game. So, the Texans lined up for a two-point conversion and Stroud ended up kneeling to finish off the victory, the correct choice for Houston but a terrible one for bettors.

Oof.
