The Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets had a preseason game in Las Vegas and it turned into a show between Austin Reaves and Cam Thomas.

Reaves and Thomas both took over and it was laughably impressive. Down 82-79 in the third quarter, Brooklyn’s Thomas scored nine consecutive points (including a 28-foot 3-pointer) for the Nets. Reaves, meanwhile, added eight points in a row for the Lakers.

The two players combined for 17 points as just over a minute passed on the clock in regulation. It felt like a fever dream watching these two players go at it without missing and it’s worth watching.

OK! That was a lot to comprehend at once, was it not? Thomas hit multiple transition 3-pointers and a high pick-and-roll.

Reaves, meanwhile, hit a spot-up 3-pointer and then dribbled off the pick for another shot from beyond the arc off the bounce. He then drew contact as he attacked the basket and added two more points at the free-throw line.

If all of that happened too fast for you to process any of it, here is a beautiful summary from the box score.

Thomas finished with 26 points, scoring a whopping 17 in the third quarter.

He said this is the “most comfortable” he has felt and knows exactly what to expect from his head coach.

Both of these players are clearly “microwave” scorers capable of getting hot in just a moment.
