Washington State beat No. 14 Oregon State as a three-point underdog Saturday, adding its first conference win of the season to an undefeated 4-0 record.
Head coach Jake Dickert used the win to prop up his team, praising them for buying into the program despite not having a single five- or four-star player on the team — and playing through the “noise” that comes from that. But he was also maybe creating some false motivation in the process. Maybe?
Dickert took aim at something Lee Corso said on ESPN’s College GameDay, addressing it during his postgame press conference. But the thing is, Corso didn’t actually say what Dickert said he did.

“I was watching [College] GameDay, and [Lee] Corso comes on and he says ‘the no one watches bowl.’ And I don’t really understand that. What’s the merit, once again? Because the facts say people watch the Cougs.”
What Corso actually said was the “no one wants us bowl,” eluding to all the recent conference realignment that’s left Washington State and Oregon State as the only remaining teams in the Pac-12. It was still a little disrespectful to the Cougars — especially with how he said it — but not quite the same as saying no one watches them.
