A WSOP Main Event 2023 player won a 4.5 million chip hand with the sickest bluff

Sometimes, in poker, you have to bluff your way to a win.

And in the World Series of Poker Main Event? That could mean the difference between going home empty handed or holding a bracelet.

We had a pretty sick moment between Daniel Vampan and Toby Lewis as we get closer to the end of the 2023 Main Event. Vampan had the 8-7 of clubs, and Lewis had the Ace-10 of hearts. At the turn, the cards on the table were 5-6-Queen-10. Lewis had a flush draw possibly and Vampan could have a straight if a 4 or a 9 hit.

Vampan actually raised on the turn and Lewis called.

The river? A 5. Vampan was done and Lewis had a pair of 10s. But Vampan must have known that Lewis’s hand wasn’t the best (and maybe Lewis wondered if Vampan had a Queen for top pair, at least). So Vampan SHOVED ALL IN.

With over 4.5 million chips in the pot, Lewis decided to fold. HUGE.

WARNING: There’s NSFW language in there:

Vampan celebrated and showed his hand to Lewis. Wow.
