The Golden State Warriors have retained star forward Draymond Green, but it hasn’t impacted their title odds in the slightest.
Green reportedly agreed to a 4-year, $100 million contract on Friday to stay in Golden State amid speculation he could leave for another team.
While some might think a Warriors team that kept Green and added veteran guard Chris Paul might be a more formidable contender for an NBA championship, oddsmakers held Golden State’s chances firm.
The team’s +1200 odds remained unchanged after news of Green re-signing, according to BetMGM.
It’ll be the same if you bet on the Warriors this evening to win the 2024 NBA Finals as it was if you bet this morning.

The Warriors can always make more moves to bump these odds up a bit, but retaining Green was perhaps at the top of the team’s list this offseason.
We’ll see if Golden State does anything else to shore up its roster as NBA free agency gets going, and if oddsmakers feel tempted to change their minds as more news comes in.
