1 bettor wagered $60,000 on Victor Wembanyama going first in the 2023 NBA Draft

One bettor really must’ve wanted an extra $300 dollars with their 2023 NBA Draft wager.

DraftKings Sportsbook shared this week that a bettor placed a $60,000 bet on French basketball phenom Victor Wembanyama would go first overall in this week’s draft to the San Antonio Spurs.

Wembanyama’s odds to go first are -20,000, making it a virtual certainty that he will indeed go at the top of Thursday night’s draft.

A bettor would have to put down $2,000 to even win $10 on this obvious a wager. This is basically like betting on the ocean to have water in it; it would take a miracle at this point for this bet not to pay out.

If you really want to go through the entire ordeal of putting down $60,000 of your own money on something as certain as Wembanyama’s draft, go for it.

If for some bizarre reason Wembanyama doesn’t go first, this is going to be a painful $60,000 mistake. Let’s be real, though. This bettor will most likely be able to go out for a nice dinner on his $300 winnings.
