The James Harden era in Philadelphia has apparently reached its end.
On Thursday afternoon, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Harden will opt-in to his $35.6 million contract to work with the 76ers on a trade to a new team. This isn’t exactly shocking news since there have been rumblings about Harden’s exit for the better part of the season.
But while most of the initial rumors centered on a potential reunion with the Houston Rockets, that no longer seems to be the most likely destination for the 10-time All-Star.
Over at DraftKings Sportsbook, the Los Angeles Clippers are the clear favorites to acquire Harden with -200 odds as of Friday morning. In fact, the next best odds feature the Sixers retaining Harden (+500) with the Rockets now +550 get their former star back.

The Knicks at +650 and the Heat at +800 are both intriguing options, but considering how competitive the Western Conference has become — and how close Philadelphia is to winning the East — sending Harden to the Pacific Time Zone feels a bit more likely. Which makes Dallas (+1800) and Portland (+5000) solid options as a darkhorse landing spot.
