Nikola Jokic is undoubtedly the face of the Denver Nuggets. There’s no denying it. But they aren’t two wins away from the first title in franchise history if he and Jamal Murray don’t form one of the NBA’s best duos.
While the pair literally outplayed the Miami Heat’s entire starting lineup in Game 3 en route to an emphatic win, there was still a relatively important matter to be settled in the closing moments. Murray, who would’ve had an excellent game regardless, needed just one (!) rebound to record a 30-point triple-double alongside his star big man.
When Murray finally collected a board off an irrelevant Heat heave on the last play, he officially made Finals triple-double history. He also won a Fanduel Sportsbook bettor $4,000 (not to mention the potential payout of anyone else who saw a clutch triple-double coming from the point guard).
Jamal Murray grabbed a rebound with 6 seconds left…

Whatever magic Murray and the Nuggets concocted in Game 3 seemed to work. They appeared to be unstoppable once they actually put their foot down. And it’s to the benefit of anyone who saw an aggressive, electric performance like this coming.
Given Murray’s penchant for forcing the issue — it probably won’t be the last of this Finals series, either.
